RECYCLING has banked cash for charity in Stratford district.
Residents using Stratford District Council’s mobile app have helped raise £1,000 for Eco Work-Shop CIC, chairman Coun Kate Rolfe’s chosen charity for the year.
The scheme was made available through Biffa Waste Services Ltd, the council’s waste and recycling collection contractor, with a donation of 10p being made to the charity each time a search was made via the Recycling Info feature on how to recycle a household item or material.
Coun Rolfe said: “This is a wonderful example of how small actions can make a big difference. Thank you to everyone who has used the app and supported recycling in our district. Thank you to Biffa, who have made the donation to Eco Work-Shop CIC possible.
The work they do providing purposeful work activities for adults with learning disabilities and autism is invaluable. Your commitment not only benefits the environment but also helps a worthy cause.”
