BIG-hearted businesses in Bishops Itchington are getting behind a first-time fundraiser in aid of Myton Hospice.

As part of The Myton Hospice’s 5K inflatable challenge, Gemma Callaghan has upped her game when it comes to fundraising.

In addition to collecting sponsorship ahead of taking part in the hospice’s 5K inflatable obstacle course in July, Gemma has organised a raffle, auction and children’s activities at her local pub.

She said: “I’ve been amazed at the local support I’ve received. The businesses have donated very generously. I have raffle and auction prizes worth over £900 already.”

The prizes include an acupuncture session, a photoshoot, a beauty kit, sports massages and day passes at a local wellness centre.

The event is to be held at the Butcher’s Arm’s in Bishops Itchington.

All are welcome to attend and help raise as much cash as possible on the May 25 from noon until 2pm.

The Myton Hospices spokesperson Marc Dwyer added: “We are so grateful to Gemma for all her hard work organising and securing so many prizes for her raffle and auction. Thank you to all of the businesses.

“Each year we need to raise £11million and we couldn’t do it without the support of the local community and amazing fundraisers like Gemma.”
