PICTURE SPECIAL: Grub's up at Alcester Food Festival

TASTE buds were well and truly tantalised at the weekend when Alcester food festival set up stall in the town centre.

The half-yearly foodies paradise took over the High Street on Saturday (October 15) with over 100 stalls packed full of delicious treats.

There was everything from puddings and confectionery to street food, cheeses, breads and jams.

And not to be left-out – it was also a chance for Alcester’s cafe’s, shops and pubs to throw open their doors and show off their grub.

While Alcester Court Leet was on hand to conduct the traditional Medieval assizes, which involves “testing the food” to see if it is fit for consumption. The Court Leet’s newly elected first female member Faye Burden even grabbed a fork.
