PICTURE SPECIAL: Food glorious food at Stratford food festival

THERE was plenty to tickle the taste buds at this year’s Stratford Food Festival.

The foodies paradise took over the town centre on Saturday September 20 and Sunday September 21, with over 100 food and drink stalls, a live cookery stage, as well as activities and entertainment.

Leading local chefs and local culinary stars created seasonal dishes on the cookery stage. There were live demonstrations with Nick Rowberry from The Boathouse and cocktail making with Shakespeare Distillery all hosted by local food influencer Bia Rodrigues-Perry.

Hands-on workshops, kids’ cook-alongs, and foodie crafts were also on the menu, as was an eating contest and live music, including Stratford favourite The Texan Peacocks.

Kate Livingston from festival organiser Slate Events said: “It has been great working alongside local businesses to create something fun and interactive for all the family to enjoy.”

Stratford BID manager Aaron Corsi added: “Kate from Slate Events has been great to work with and who better to oversee our busy and varied line-up of talented local chefs on our live kitchen stage, than one of our best loved local foodie champions, Bianca Rodrigues-Perry. Bianca’s passion for both cooking and supporting independent local businesses, coupled with her infectious personality, made her the perfect MC for our fabulous weekend of food and entertainment.”
