A SOUTH Warwickshire mother was horrified when she checked her husband’s phone and discovered a video recording he had made of him sexually abusing their young daughter.
It was one of a number he had made during his horrendous campaign of abuse as he raped the little girl on an almost daily basis from when she was just four years-old.
Despite the fact that his wife recognised him, and their bedroom where the perverted video had been recorded, his face was not visible – and when he was first in court he tried to claim it was a case of mistaken identity.
But at Warwick Crown Court he pleaded guilty to charges of raping his daughter, sexually assaulting her, and taking indecent images of her.
The father, who is in his 30s but cannot be named to protect his daughter’s identity, was given an extended sentence of 14 years in jail, followed by an additional five years on licence.
