Orchestra on the hunt for new volunteers

THE ORCHESTRA of the Swan is on the lookout for new volunteers.

The Stratford-based orchestra will be holding an open day next Tuesday (June 20) to meet and greet people interested in lending their support.

Roles up for grabs range from front of house assistants and social media volunteers, to the newly created ‘concert giver’ position.

Developed in partnership with Alzheimer’s Society, the job of a concert giver is to help people with dementia see live shows and continue to enjoy music they love.

Locally known as ‘OOTS’, the group has an annual programme of more than 40 concerts, tours around the world and regularly has its live concerts broadcast on the BBC.

The open morning takes place at Stratford Artshouse from 10am to 1pm.
