NINJA swords can be surrendered at police stations across Warwickshire ahead of a nationwide ban.
From August 1 it will be illegal in England and Wales to own one of these weapons and as a result a nationwide surrender campaign is running until July 31.
Anyone can hand in a ninja sword at Nuneaton Justice Centre, Rugby Police Station, Leamington Justice Centre or Stratford Police Station.
No action will be taken against anyone surrendering a ninja sword and compensation can be claimed.
Inspector Ryan Walker from Warwickshire Police said: “Reassuringly, we don’t see many of these weapons in Warwickshire, but we don’t know how many people may have one in their home. It is important anyone who does own one understands that from August 1, possession of a ninja sword, even in a private address, is a criminal offence.”
Anyone who owns a ninja-style sword can check Home Office guidance to see if it fits the criteria.
