New state of the art coaches reduce 'harmful emissions'

FIVE new coaches have been added to the fleet by Johnsons Coach and Bus Travel.

The new additions are part of their renewal programme which hopes to maximise their contribution to reduce the harmful emissions attributed to diesel engines.

Henley-based Johnsons are helping the environment by bringing in vehicles equipped with the latest ‘Euro 6’ engines which meet the European Commission’s latest guidelines on harmful emissions.

Commercial director John Johnson said: “We are investing heavily in vehicles with the latest state of the art engine technology.

“We now have 18 ‘Euro 6’ coaches and buses and similar investment is already being planned for next year. One of the reasons for this is because Air Quality legislation will increase in the future.

“London already has its Low Emission Zone and will soon move to implement its ‘Ultra’ LEZ too. And other major cities, like Birmingham are moving to introduce Clean Air Zones (CAZ’s). We are well placed to meet the needs of our customers and these new regulations.”
