A NEW charity shop has landed at the Maybrook Industrial Estate in Stratford.
Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance’s new home store has opened its doors to the public.
And Stratford’s Mayor Coun Gill Cleeve was on hand to cut the ribbon at an official opening ceremony on Thursday November 24.
It is hoped the new shop will raise vital funds for the local air ambulance service, which provides pre-hospital critical care across the county.
The new shop stands on the former site of the Topps Tiles store and is the second air ambulance charity shop to open in the town.
Hannah Coventry, Head of Retail for the charity, said: “After being supported by the wonderful people of Stratford and the surrounding communities for a good number of years – both with donations and as customers in our local boutique store- it’s been an ambition for the charity to bring a home store to our local supporters too.”
At the grand opening, visitors and guests had the opportunity to have a look around the store and shop the extensive range of new and pre-loved homeware, furniture, electricals and brand new white goods.
There were also bargains on offer for Christmas decorations and ideas for Christmas presents.
Hannah added: “It is so great to see so many people from the local community attend in support of our home store opening today. The success of our store is vital as the Warwickshire and
Northamptonshire Air Ambulance receives no government funding and relies solely on donations from the public and retail income to keep saving lives.”
The charity relies entirely on donations to raise the £1,700 needed for each rescue mission. It urges supporters to visit the home store to shop and donate items using its free furniture collection service.
This new store opening adds to the charity’s portfolio of stores and comes before the momentous milestone of the charity celebrating its 20th anniversary of lifesaving service across Warwickshire and Northamptonshire in 2023.
