TWO pensioners were taken to hospital after a three vehicle crash on the M40.

The smash, which involved a lorry and two cars, happened close to the southbound 3A junction with the M42 shortly before 11.30am on Tuesday.

A man in his 80s suffered chest injuries while a woman also in her 80s suffered cuts to her head.

Both were taken to University Hospital in Coventry but their injuries were not thought to be serious.

Two others – described as walking wounded – did not require hospital treatment.
