ALL THE fun of the seaside has come to land-locked Henley.
More than 40 tonnes of sand have been shipped into the town to create a beach, complete with paddling pools.
Families grabbed their buckets and spades and donned their swimming costumes for the free event at the youth and community centre – Hub at Henley.
The facility, which welcomed its first beach-goers on Sunday (August 20), is giving residents the chance to enjoy a seaside atmosphere on their own doorstep – a welcome move in light of the cost-of living crisis and financial difficulties which may prevent people taking a holiday this year.
Henley beach will be staffed by a team of youth workers and volunteers, and will be open until September 1.
