Lib-Dem candidate calls for change

LIBERAL Democrat parliamentary candidate for Stratford, Manuela Perteghella, has called on her fellow constituents to “kick the Conservatives out of power” after more than a 100 years of Conservative rule in the constituency.

Responding to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak calling a General Election for July 4, she said: “This election is a once-in-a-generation chance to kick the Conservatives out of power and finally deliver the change and fresh start our area so desperately needs.

“People are telling me they’re fed up with years of chaos and neglect under this out-of-touch Conservative government.

“It’s clear that only the Liberal Democrats can beat the Conservatives in Stratford-on-Avon. Every vote will count.”

Campaigning for action to save the NHS, tackle the cost of living crisis and end the sewage scandal, Manuela said the Liberal Democrats were on the up in Stratford after their victory over the Conservatives last year in the local elections, when they won 25 out of the 41 seats on Stratford District Council.

She added: “After years of struggling to get an NHS appointment, soaring rents and mortgages and our rivers being polluted by filthy sewage, it’s time for a change in Stratford-on-Avon.”

The Conservatives have yet to name their candidate for Stratford after Nadhim Zahawi declared he would be standing down.
