Keen Alcester photographer releases charity calendar in memory of her dad

Stratford Editorial 1st Dec, 2022   0

A KEEN snapper from Alcester has put together a charity calendar in memory of her dad.

Gillian Mann, who has Downs Syndrome, said she has enjoyed photography since she was given her first camera.

She has recently been having professional photography lessons – and her calendar is the result.

The 2023 calendar features 12 photos, selected from hundreds, inspired by nature.

Gillian said: “My dad Terry was a fantastic nature and wildlife photographer and people say I have his eye for composition. My dad died suddenly in 2019 and this calendar is for him.”

All the cash raised from sales of the calendar will go to the Midlands Air Ambulance who were called out to attend Gillian’s dad.

And photography isn’t Gillian’s only interest.

She said: “My life is very busy and I have lots of interests and hobbies. Drama is a big part of my life and I am a member of the Side by Side Theatre Company. We put on shows every year at the Spa Centre in Leamington.

“I love to swim and have done sponsored swims for a children’s charity.”

Gillian added: “I hope you like my photos as much as I do. I had a lot of fun taking them.”
