Green spaces celebrated in Stratford district during Love Parks Week

GREEN spaces have been celebrated across Stratford district this week.

Stratford District Council was among hundreds of councils across the country taking part in Love Parks Week 2023.

The celebration, running until Sunday (August 6), brought together local authorities, green space managers, landowners, residents and community organisations to celebrate and support green spaces all across the country.

SDC environmental spokesperson Coun Lorraine Grocott said: “Love Parks Week is a great time to celebrate all the wonderful parks and play areas we have across Stratford district.

“People love spending their time in their local park. Love Parks is all about how we can protect and enjoy our fantastic parks and green spaces.”

Keep Britain Tidy’s chief executive, Allison Ogden-Newton OBE, added: “The Love Parks campaign would not be possible without the backing of our local authority partners, including Stratford District Council, park managers and landowners.

“This week is an opportunity for everyone to recognise the value of our parks and green spaces for communities, health and wellbeing, and to encourage groups within our communities that may not think of parks as a space for them to visit.”
