Green-minded Stratford residents prepare for The Great Big Green Week

Stratford Editorial 15th May, 2023 Updated: 30th May, 2023   0

THE GREAT Big Green Week is returning to Stratford and is set to be bigger than ever.

Residents are invited to take part in the nationwide campaign, from June 10 to 18, highlighting the need for urgent action on climate and nature.

Now in its third year, events will draw attention to climate change and destruction of the natural world, while also making a connection with these issues in communities like Stratford.

At the same time, people from all walks of life will be showcasing actions to tackle climate change, creating a better world, for now and the next generation.

A range of organisations, groups, charities, individuals and change-makers in the town have organised over 30 events, talks, walks and more.

Events include a sustainable Shakespeare family fun day to enjoy with Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, a vegan cooking demo and meal with Net Zero and the Plantarium Cafe chef, macro photography with Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, and a visit to a solar farm near Stratford.

Nationally, The Great Big Green Week is being organised by The Climate Coalition, the UK’s largest group of people dedicated to action against climate change, whose members include the National Trust, WWF, Women’s Institute, Oxfam, and RSPB.
