FROM octogenarian tap dancers to a nonagenarian escape artist – the residents of Great Alne Park have been putting on a show.
Some 25 performers from the retirement village near Alcester put on a variety show called Music Hall for their fellow residents at the weekend.
A few of the entertainers were in their 60s, but most were in their 70s and 80s, proving age is only a number when it comes to having fun.
There was everything from ballet and belly dancing to a George Formby-inspired ukulele performance. The residents even created their own special effects and costumes.
The show, aimed at bringing the community together, was a sell out.
And this is not the first time, the retirees have taken centre stage. They are becoming infamous for their annual flash mobs outside Shakespeare’s Birthplace in Stratford.
