THE GAME Fair welcomed a record-breaking 128,000 visitors to Ragley Hall at the weekend.

Fair-goers at the south Warwickshire estate near Alcester enjoyed a range of countryside pursuits from fieldsports competitions to displays of everything from falconry to chainsaws, together with a a Shetland Pony Grand National and  terrier racing.

Celebrity guests at the show this year included broadcaster, farmer and conservationist Jimmy Doherty, TV’s best known bartender Merlin Griffiths and the former footballer turned actor Vinnie Jones.

Expert and amateur anglers alike took to the lake to take part in a range of fishing activities, including The British Fly Casting Club’s ever-popular casting competitions.

And our photographer Marcus Mingins was there to capture some of the action as the celebration of of the countryside returned after a year off.

James Gower, of organisers Stable Events, said: “Ragley Hall provided the perfect backdrop for what was a truly memorable Game Fair. It was great to witness so many of our visitors fully immersed in the event, celebrating our shared countryside interests.

“Thank you to all our visitors, exhibitors, sponsors and team for making it such a success.”
