THE League of Friends at Stratford Hospital have made a generous donation to Warwick Hospital’s Birth and Babies Appeal.
The volunteers gave £5,000 towards making enhancements to the Midwife-Led Unit, which is set to open next year.
League of Friends chair Lila Morgan said: “We wanted to give something to the new maternity unit at Warwick hospital as it will benefit families from the whole of Warwickshire, it is so important for local women to have more choice where to give birth.”
The funds will go towards special baby cribs and stands rather than standard plastic cots, providing birthing pools for every room, upgrading furnishings to make it feel homely and developing a therapeutic room for parents to use.
