Fraudsters attempt to use fake bank notes

FRAUDSTERS have been attempting to use fake bank notes in Alcester.

Two boys and a man were using false £20 and £50 notes to pay for items on Wednesday (November 21).

After the man was challenged in Hopkins Precinct he became aggressive and left with the goods paid for with the note as well as the change.

An hour later at around 7.15pm, the boys, tried to buy things with fake notes from the same shop but were turned away.

The pair, thought to be around age 12, tried again around 9.20pm at a takeaway. Staff noticed the tip box which was on the counter was missing after they left.

They went in one more shop at around 9.45pm and tried to use a £50 note. They also tried to take scratch cards from the till area before fleeing on foot towards Captains Hill.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
