A GROUP had to climb on top of their Land Rover after it got stuck in floodwater.

Four people had to sit on the roof of the vehicle and wait to be rescued after becoming stuck at The Old Ford between Great Alne and Aston Cantlow at around 10pm on Wednesday (February 1).

The water rescue team and police officers were called to rescue the group, who were all unharmed and in no immediate danger

A spokesman from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We would like to remind residents that warning signs that fords are impassable are in place for a reason and should not be ignored.”
