A FORMER Olympic athlete paid pupils at Kineton High School a special visit earlier as part of a motivational assembly.
Daniel Caines, who competed at the Sydney Olympics in the 400 metres, spoke to students about his experiences growing up and the challenges he had to overcome to make it to the top of his field.
The Solihull-born runner shared his strategies in succeeding and explained how small things can make a big difference.
Deputy head teacher Adam Mitchell said: “It is rare to come face to face with an Olympic athlete, let alone hear how someone so successful had to deal with setbacks before achieving success.”
