Firework championships set to take place at Ragley Hall this weekend

THERE are set to be oohs and ahhs aplenty when the firework championships take place at Ragley Hall in Alcester at the weekend.

The stately home is hosting the penultimate instalment in this year’s Firework Champions catalogue on Saturday (September 17).

The spark-tacular event will see three leading pyrotechnic companies compete to be crowned the ultimate winner – with the decision being made by spectators who all have the chance to vote for their favourite display using an innovative SMS system.

The Art of Sparks, Solihull Fireworks, and Signature Fireworks are the three competing pyrotechnic teams, while Dynamite Fireworks will provide a larger closing display.

Organisers MLE Pyrotechnics have also promised a pre-show spectacle in the form of a drone light show courtesy of DroneSwarm.

Mat Lawrence, Managing Director at MLE Pyrotechnics, said: “With us being so familiar with Ragley Hall already, we just know this year’s event is going to be nothing short of magical. Each team is going to bring passion and originality to their respective firework displays, and the closing display will be something people simply cannot miss.”

Gates open at 4pm. There will be music and entertainment, food and drink – including a bar – and the main event starts at 8:30pm, followed by voting at 9:40pm.

The larger closing display will follow with the results announced at 9:55pm.

Mat added: “Firework Champions is a family friendly event that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetimes. With all the entertainment on offer, there’s so much to do and see within such a short space of time – so be sure to come on down for a magical evening.”
