Firefighters tackle barn blaze near Bidford

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze near Bidford after a barn containing 300 tons of hay and straw caught fire.

Engines from Bidford and Alcester attended the scene at Famington Farm on George’s End Lane just after 2.30am on Wednesday morning (July 22).

On arrival the crews requested further assistance and were later joined by a crew Stratford and a water carrier from Leamington.

Firefighters are currently damping dampen down the scene.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
