Firefighters called to rescue trapped pregnant dog in labour

FIREFIGHTERS might be use to rescuing cats up trees but pregnant dogs are another matter.

Crews were called to rescue a heavily pregnant long-haired daschund after she got trapped underneath her owner’s summer house in Crockwell Street in Long Compton.

Specialist equipment was used to rescue the mum-to-be who was in labour at the time.

Soon after her rescue she gave birth to three puppies, a girl and two boys – which firefighters have promised to visit.
