FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze in a lorry cab on the M40 this morning (Tuesday).

At around 5.30am fire crews were called to the cab between junction 12 at Gaydon and junction 11 at Banbury on the southbound carriageway.

The cab had been separated from the trailer of the vehicle which firefighters say limited the damage.

A spokesman said: “Upon arrival, crews found the cab of the lorry to be well alight. It had been separated from the trailer part of the vehicle, minimising the damage.

Fire fighters used hose reels and breathing apparatus to deal with the incident.”
