Fate of airfield businesses yet to be revealed

THE FATE of businesses on Wellesbourne Airfield is yet to be revealed.

The appeal against the decision to terminate the tenancies of the businesses took place yesterday (Thursday).

The businesses – which include flight schools and a cafe – appealed following a lengthy court battle with site owner Littler Investments which wants to sell the land for development.

The businesses are now waiting the judge’s decision.

A spokeswoman for aviation school Take Flight said the verdict could take up to two weeks.

Although Stratford District Council has stepped in to make a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) of the site, businesses would have been evicted in October had the appeal been rejected.

If the judge rules in favour of Littler Investments, the tenants will have three months to leave the site.
