Families enjoy free fun in the sun for National Play Day

Stratford Editorial 5th Aug, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

IT WAS playtime for youngsters in Stratford this week.

Families flocked to Stratford Recreation Ground for a day of fun and games on Wednesday.

The free event – organised by Stratford District Council – was part of the National Play Day initiative, which aims to celebrate and highlight the importance of play in children’s lives.

A climbing wall, a large inflatable, and a puppet show were among the activities on offer while visitors could also spend time learning circus skills, getting their faces painted or trying their hand at basketball.

And competition was fierce as young and old battled it out at connect four, giant snakes and ladders, tennis, cricket and in sumo suits.

Observer photographer Jon Mullis was there to capture the fun in the sun.
