A CYCLIST died after colliding with a car near Stratford on Tuesday (March 24).
He was cycling past Alscot Park in Atherstone-on-Stour at around 2.10pm when the collision took place.
An ambulance, paramedic officer, local community first responder and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were sent to the scene. A passing off duty paramedic stopped to give aid at the scene until ambulance crews arrived.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find the off-duty paramedic giving CPR to the cyclist, a man. The team of medics quickly began to administer advanced life support at the scene. Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased a short time later.”
