A CYCLIST suffered a serious head injury following a crash with a car in Stratford.

Emergency services were called to Seven Meadows Road around 9.50am on Monday (January 18).

The cyclist – a man believed to be in his 50s – was treated by paramedics before being airlifted to University Hospital in Coventry.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews discovered a man who had fallen from his bicycle following a collision with a car.

“He was treated for a serious head injury and given pain relief.

“He received specialist trauma care to stabilise his condition, was immobilised and airlifted to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.”

The driver of the car was uninjured in the incident.

The road was closed both ways but reopened shortly afterwards.
