SHIPSTON Warm Hub is now a permanent fixture in the town.
The Community Warm Hub ran on Thursdays throughout the winter at the town’s Scout Hut as part of WRCC’s Winter Warm Hubs initiative.
And now, thanks to grants from Cadent and Warwickshire County Council, the weekly hub will be running as a permanent event.
Residents toasted the launch of the permanent hub with cups of tea and cake as they looked ahead to it providing a place for even more people to go for company, refreshments, games and even visits from the likes of the British Motor Museum and Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.
The community hub has also put on Tai Chi testers and children’s crafts, flu clinics and defibrilator training so far, as well as providing energy saving advice.
Vanessa Compton, Chair of SHWP’s Executive Committee, said: “We’re thrilled to be running Shipston’s first Community Warm Hub and would like to thank all our supporters. And watch out for lots more fun and free activities for all ages every week, such as nature walks, cost of living workshops, children’s summer activities and an unmissable performance from vintage singer Betsy Harmony. Why not make Thursday mornings your regular time to meet up with friends, make new ones – and find out what else is going on locally.”

Warm Hubs are not just for winter – people need safe, inclusive ‘happy places’ where they know they’ll be warmly welcomed and feel part of a community all year round.”
Shipston’s Community Warm Hub runs every Thursday from 10am to 12noon at the Scout Hut in New Street.
