County's history goes digital with Our Warwickshire

PEOPLE are being urged to share byte-sized chunks of Warwickshire history.

The Our Warwickshire website, run by the county council’s Heritage and Culture service, has been re-launched thanks to Heritage Lottery support.

Residents can share their stories and it is hoped Our Warwickshire will become a one-stop-shop for information about Shakespeare county’s heritage and natural environment.

Coun Jeff Clarke, county environment spokesman said: “It is a delight to see pages ranging from the old Co-op Hall in Nuneaton to Smith’s Grocer’s in Warwick.

“What is especially pleasing is to see the range of pages, from people’s memories, to research on historic buildings, to the geology and archaeology available in the area.”

Contributions in the form of stories, photos, events happening in the area, and listings of local groups relevant to the website are welcome.
