A BY-ELECTION has been called following the resignation of a long-serving Stratford district councillor.
Coun Nigel Rock represented the Bishops Itchington, Fenny Compton and Napton ward on SDC for over 20 years..
The by-election for this ward will take place on Thursday May 7.
The Notice of Election was posted on Monday (March 30), and nominations for these by elections will close at 4pm on Thursday April 9.
To be able to vote at this election residents must be aged 18 or over on the day of the poll, a British, Commonwealth, Irish or Qualifying European citizen and be on the electoral register or have applied to be so by midnight on Monday April 20.
Postal votes and proxy votes are available to any district resident who is on the electoral register.
All completed postal vote application forms must be submitted before 5pm on Tuesday April 21 and applications for proxy votes close at 5pm on April 28.
Poll cards containing details of the by election in Bishops Itchington, Fenny Compton and Napton and the polling station venues will be sent out from Thursday April 2.
