BIG-hearted B&Q staff have been putting their tools to good use out in the Stratford community.
Six volunteers from the town’s branch of B&Q spent the day replacing the fencing at John Roberts Almhouses in Brookvale Road.
These almshouses form part of the Municipal Charities of Stratford and are home to six residents.
William Clemmey, the municipal charity’s chief officer, said: “The fences at John Roberts Almshouses are old and worn out and so we are delighted that B&Q staff are able to volunteer to come and help replace the fencing which will improve the gardens for the residents.”
Chloe Wright from Stratford B&Q added: “The six B&Q volunteers are very happy to be involved in replacing the fencing at John Roberts Almshouses. Our staff are really pleased that they can offer something back to the local community through this volunteering opportunity.”
