A BIKER suffered serious injuries after a crash on the A46.

Emergency services were called to a stretch of road at Redhill between Alcester and Stratford just before noon on Saturday (July 25).

The bike had been in collision with a car and the man – thought to be in his early 60s – had to be airlifted to hospital.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a motorcycle that had been in a serious collision with a car.

“The man riding the motorcycle suffered pelvic, leg, hip and arm injuries in the crash. He received emergency treatment from medics and his condition was stabilised. The man was then airlifted to University Hospital for further emergency treatment.”

The woman driving the car was uninjured in the crash and, having been checked over by medics, was discharged at the scene.

It is the fourth crash involving a motorcyclist on south Warwickshire’s roads in a matter of weeks – three of which have been fatalities.

A recent review of the A46 showed there was no common factor linking the serious accidents.
