BANCROFT Gardens in Stratford is celebrating another year of being officially green.
The public park received a Green Flag award for a second consecutive year.
Stratford District Council’s environmental spokesperson Coun Lorraine Grocott said: “We are delighted that Bancroft Gardens has once again been recognised with a Green Flag Award. Retaining this prestigious accolade reflects the continued dedication of our staff and the district council’s grounds maintenance contractor, Krinkels UK, whose hard work ensures that the gardens remain a clean, safe and welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.
“Located in the heart of Stratford, Bancroft Gardens is one of the district’s most popular green spaces, attracting residents and visitors throughout the year. This award demonstrates our commitment to maintaining high-quality parks and open spaces that support wellbeing, biodiversity and community pride, and we are extremely proud to have achieved this national recognition for a second consecutive year.”
The Green Flag Award scheme recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
Bancroft Gardens is one of a record breaking 2,391 in the UK to achieve the award this year.
