Audiences can lounge in luxury at the new Everyman cinema

FILM fanatics can enjoy all the latest box office hits with a cocktail in hand at the new £3.5million Everyman cinema.

The Bell Court venue boasts four ‘luxury’ screens – two of which are 3D – along with a restaurant and cocktail bar.

Movie buffs can sit back and relax on individual and two-seater sofas, while waiting for food and drinks to be delivered directly to their seats – but only during the trailers.

The screens, which have all been individually designed, have a cosy, intimate feel, with the biggest one seating just 148 people. Carefully considered touches – like spacious leg room, and vintage film posters – give the place a personal but authentic vibe.

Manager Marc Pantling said: “Our focus is on amazing customer service. We don’t want to just churn people in and out. We want them to stay here and enjoy the setting.”

The cinema is part of the Everyman chain, which took over London’s Hampstead cinema in 2000. While the group shows mainstream films and box-office hits, it also welcomes new independent films and revisits classics.

The cinema wants to go beyond simply showing films, and hopes to make way for more live experiences too.

Marc told the Observer: “Three of our screen have stages, which means we can host things like Q&A sessions and film introductions by the people involved.”

The cinema will also run a weekday baby club, so parents can bring little ones without worrying about disturbing other cinema-goers, and a silver screen offer where over 55’s cake take advantage of free cake.
