Armed robber points weapon and demands cash at Stratford shop

AN ARMED robber pointed a weapon and demanded cash at a shop in Stratford.

Staff at the Drayton Avenue premises handed over money after the man pointed what is believed to be a knife.

Following the reported robbery – which took place on Sunday (May 14) at around 9.30pm – the man is thought to have fled in the direction of Holly Walk with another man.

The staff member was unharmed but left shaken up by the incident.

Police are urging witnesses or anyone with information to call 101 or ring 0800 555 111 to speak to Crimestoppers anonymously.
