Alcester Male Voice Choir looks for new recruits

Stratford Editorial 8th Sep, 2023   0

BUDDING tenors and speculative altos are being called to attend an open evening aimed at boosting Alcester Male Voice Choir’s ranks.

The open evening is an annual event, this year being held at the Eric Payne Centre in St Faiths Road on Wednesday September 20 from 7.30pm.

Judith Land, the choir’s founder and director of music, said: “We are always looking for new members, we never put people through stressful auditions, and we welcome men of all abilities from the experienced to those who are trying it for the first time. Once a new member joins there is no pressure. We are a friendly group, and help them to settle in. All we ask that they commit to the weekly rehearsals, and only when they feel ready, take part in the concerts.

“I guarantee they will have fun, enjoy some wonderful experiences and feel healthier for singing on a regular basis. So whether you sing high, sing low or sing somewhere in between, come along and meet the choir.”
