KNOWN to millions for his TV coverage of royal events, former newsreader Sir Martyn Lewis is to report on a royal pageant of a very different kind when he joins Armonico Consort at Warwick’s St Mary’s Church on Saturday January 30.
Sir Martyn will narrate The Doge’s Coronation – a concert by the choir and period instrument ensemble inspired by the majestic coronation ceremonies of 16th century Venice.
Audiences will experience the 16-part ‘surround sound’ of Andrea Gabrieli’s Gloria and Giovanni Gabrieli’s Omnes Gentes, alongside other classics of the Italian Renaissance.
