Alcester residents have a lovely crafternoon

Stratford Editorial 12th Jun, 2023   0

CRAFTY Alcester residents are being invited to a weekly get-together.

Crafternoon Tea is held at Alcester Library every Friday from 1.30pm until 3.30pm and residents are invited to bring along their own art or craft projects and enjoy free refreshments and friendly chat.

Current members are handy at knitting, sewing, tatting, crochet and spinning but anyone can come along and there is no need to book.

Stalwart of the group is 97-year-old Betty Addison who has just knitted over 100 little woollen hats for the premature baby unit in Warwick.

And the bonnets even come with a special ‘bobble code’. The ones with the red bobbles are for poorly babies, those that wear a yellow bobble are getting better and those ready to be discharged can wear a green bobble hat and take it home.
