STALWART Stratford resident Peter Pearce a.k.a Peter Pan has passed away.
Peter lived in the town for over 50 years and was known for his singing and charm.
His family says if he came across a lady wearing red, he would serenade her with Chris De Burgh’s, Lady in Red. He would sing in the shops and the bank, well known with the staff in Boots, and the Dolphin Fish Bar. His mission was to brighten people’s day.
The family describes his ‘Hakuna Matata’ way of life and generous spirit – always helping others in need and regularly donating to charities.
He was well known on the Loxley Road, walking his dogs for many years up to the oak tree on Alveston Hill, in all weathers.
Others may know him as a keen member of Snipes indoor bowls club, even after an arm amputation last year, Peter still loved to join in and support the club.
Peter dearly missed his wife Myra but for the seven years he was without her he put on a brave face and strove to maintain his independence, despite his ill health. His family added he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
