FC Stratford boost their ranks

Stratford Editorial 31st Oct, 2019   0

IN-FORM FC Stratford aim to ensure the battle for places intensifies after snapping up striker Jarrell Hylton and utility player Luke Williams.

Hylton has joined from Racing Club Warwick and Williams from Redditch Borough after both clubs waived the seven days of approach from boss Dave Poulson.

After last weekend’s planned Midland League Division Two trip to high-flying Feckenham was washed out, the pair will come into contention as Stratford face two cup ties and a league trip in the next week.

Poulson’s men, who are unbeaten in seven matches, entertain Knowle in the Presidents Cup on Saturday (1.45pm) at the Arden Garages Stadium, with the winners facing Redditch Borough in the last eight.

Then Stratford head to Premier Division Tividale for a League Cup second round clash on Tuesday,

Next Saturday, Stratford, who sit sixth in the table – six points off second-placed Feckenham – travel to third-bottom Bolehall Swifts in the league.

Hylton and Williams will both add more strength in depth to the squad.

Hylton has featured for teams at Step Three and Step Four level, having spells at Redditch United, Chasetown and Stratford Town. He made nine appearances, including four starts for Town last term.

The striker has also featured for several Midland League clubs including Northfield Town and Studley.

Injury has meant a frustrating time for Williams at Redditch Borough. He starred with Alcester Town in 2017/18 under Danny Janes and Richard Briggs, figuring in several different roles, and then switched to Earlswood Town with Ade Luxton before last season. He returned to Alcester and helped the Romans secure the Midland League Division Three title.
