Baillie salutes unsung hero Lewis Wilson

THOMAS BAILLIE says Stratford Town midfielder Lewis Wilson should be considered an unsung hero, rather than a villain.

Some Town fans have been quick to criticise Wilson but his sixth goal of the season earned Stratford a 1-0 victory at Redditch last weekend.

Wilson, who has played at full-back, wide midfield and in central defence, has been a key figure under Baillie as Stratford have become one of the teams of the season.

“I think people are pretty harsh on Lewis,” said Baillie.

“Lewis Wilson does a job, a very hard job. I would say he covers more ground than other player.

“He works so hard and it goes unnoticed but what it does do is that it allows other players to express themselves.

“Chris Cox wouldn’t be the full-back he is, bombing forward, if he didn’t have Lewis Wilson in front of him.

“I think the criticism Lewis Wilson has got is very unfair.”
