Transformed community centre set to be unveiled

Stratford Editorial 2nd Nov, 2018   0

THE KEN Kennett Community Centre in Stratford is set to reopen following an extensive refurbishment.

The centre on Justins Avenue will begin a new era tomorrow (November 3) after being forced to close just over two years ago due to financial difficulties.

A number of organisations and residents teamed up to transform the centre which will be run by Clopton Community Action Group.

Funding of £26,000 to carry out improvements was provided Stratford district and town councils, and Warwickshire County Council.

An official opening is set to be held on Saturday from 2pm where people are invited to look around the centre and enjoy free refreshments. Ahead of the official opening there will be a free screening of The Incredibles 2 from 10am.

Stratford mayor John Bicknell said: “I congratulate all concerned in bringing this project to fruition and retaining this vital asset for the community.

“The town council is proud to have been involved and I look forward to seeing the transformation.”

Search www.eventbrite.com for free tickets to the film screening.
