All the fun of the fair had at Mop

Stratford Editorial 15th Oct, 2018   0

STRATFORD Mop – which can trace its origins back to the 14th century – rolled-up in the town centre on Thursday and Friday.

It featured the usual mix of modern and traditional rides.

There was also set to be a jobs fair for the first time in around 100 years – giving a nod to the Mop’s roots, for employees to hire those looking for work.

Those without a trade were encouraged to bring a mop to indicate they needed work.

But strong winds from Storm Callum forced organisers to cancel the job market.

Rides including the historic 127 year-old Golden Carousel and the traditional Pig Roast Auction still went ahead.

Those who may have missed the Mop have a second chance to enjoy all the fun of the fair when the ‘Runaway Mop’ sets up next Thursday and Friday (October 25 and 26).
