ALCESTER A whitewashed Pershore A to cut the gap to Wildmoor Tennis League Premier Division leaders Stratford A to four points.

Stratford chalked up a 3-1 victory against Ardencote A in the week six fixtures but Alcester A went one better with a 4-0 success against Pershore A.

Stratford pair Callum Bailey and his new partner Chris Marrow eased passed Ardencote’s Ben Summers and John Brain 6-3, 6-2 before beating Pete Thomas and Myles Wilcox-Smith 6-2, 6-0.

Stratford’s second pair of Tim Page and James Smith lost to Thomas and Wilcox-Smith 6-3, 0-6, 0-1 and then beat Summers and Brain 0-6, 7-5, 1-0.




Alcester A dropped just one set as they whitewashed Pershore.

Alex Woodbridge and Charlie Watson beat Pershore’s Steve Bauer and Jon Guppy 6-3, 6-4 before beating Renat Okassov and Sean Randle 6-3, 6-2.


Alcester’s other pair Stuart Beach and Barney Williams beat Okassov and Randle 6-3, 6-2 before beating Bauer and Guppy 3-6, 6-3, 1-0.

Chipping Campden A’s 4-0 win against Alcester B keeps them third and their opponents fourth.

Chipping Campden’s Martyn Ledbury and Ali Johson breezed passed Alcester B’s Duncan Robinson and Matt Fielding 6-1, 6-0 and then beat Sam Woodger and James Morley-Cotterell 6-0,6-0.

Alcester’s second pair Tom Partridge and Tobias Kemp won both their matches in straight sets, beating Woodger and Morley Cotterell 6-1, 6-0 and then Robinson and Fielding 6-2, 6-3.

Sixth-placed Henley A and seventh-placed Redditch A shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

Redditch’s Terry Iduitua and Lubo Smoliar beat Henley’s Matt Williams and Ollie Didlick 6-2, 6-4 before beating Brett Mackay and Tom Griffiths 6-2, 7-6. Redditch’s Darren Cutler and Kevin Porter lost 2-6, 4-6 to Mackay and Griffiths and then went down 1-6, 0-6 to Iduitua and Smoliar.

In Division One the top three teams all recorded 4-0 wins.

Leaders Littleton beat Ardencote B, second-placed Evesham defeated Alcester C and third placed Studley A beat Stratford B. In the final match Moreton A beat Inkberrow A 3-1.

Claverdon A remain in first place in Division Two after a 3-1 win against Chipping Campden B while Snitterfield A’s 3-1 win against Shipston A keeps them second.

Henley’s 2-2 draw against FISSC moves them into joint third place with Shipston while Inkberrow B and Claverdon B shared the points in a hard-fought 2-2 draw.

The top three in Division Three all trecorded 2-2 away draws – Studley B against Inkberrow C, Pershore B against Snitterfield B and Warwick against Redditch B. In the other match Bidford won 4-0 away to Redditch C.

Division Four leaders Shipston B sealed a 3-1 win away to Aston Cantlow to edge one point ahead of second-placed Evesham B, who had to be content with a share of the points away to third-placed Wildmoor Spa A.

Chipping Campden C beat Claverdon C and Tysoe shared the points with Bidford.

In Division Five, Stratford C now have a six-point lead at the top, thanks to their 4-0 win away to Moreton B.

Warwick CC’s 3-1 win against Wildmoor Spa B moves them back above Moreton into second place while Henley C and Inkberrow D drew 2-2.
