THE ANNUAL Stratford Athletic Club awards evening held at Stratford School reflected on and celebrated another year of successes and achievements of the people throughout all sections of the club.
The club’s very own Olympian Andrew Pozzi was on hand to present the huge amount of medals and trophies to the winners.
He answered questions from the 300-strong audience and revealed the good news that he is back in training and aiming for the 2017 World Championships in London.
Pozzi then received the final award of the evening when he was presented with the Male Athlete of the Year accolade.
Paul Bearman welcomed the audience and said: “Every now and again I’m asked what makes our club such a happy, fun and successful club and it’s a bit of cliché but quite simply it’s the energy, skills, camaraderie and interest of the volunteer people involved right across the various parts of the club that makes us the success that we are, plus the talent and dedication of everyone who competes.”
There are nearly 500 active members in the club and it is still growing and on behalf of everyone at the club Bearman thanked everyone who has contributed to its success.
