Still time to enter Stratford's duck race

Stratford Editorial 24th Jul, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

DON’T forget your duck.

That’s the message from Stratford Rotary Club’s ahead of the first Shakespeare Duck Race on Saturday August 27.

Around 1,000 rubber ducks will be launched at 2pm below the weir at Lucy’s Mill – opposite Holy Trinity Church – and there will be a cash prize of £150 for the winning duck, £100 for the runner-up, and £50 for third place.

A fourth prize of a family ticket has been donated by Stratford Butterfly Farm.

All money raised by the event will go to the Shakespeare Hospice’s new Children and Young People’s services and other local good causes.

And after the race, the event spokes-duck ‘Bill’ will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Entry is £2 per duck, with supporters receiving an allocated number which co-ordinates with a numbered duck.
