A GERMAN man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following a head on crash in Bishopton.

Firefighters had to cut the roof from one car following the smash on the A34 in Bishopton on Monday evening at around 8.30pm.

Two had been trapped in the crash, one in each vehicle, and a passenger was also left needing hospital treatment.

A spokesman from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Fire crews worked with ambulance and police staff at the scene for around an hour and a half and the road reopened around 2am.

The damage to the cars shows the impact was head on, luckily the injuries were not classed as too serious by paramedics.

Three casualties were transported to hospital by West Midlands Ambulance Service.”

Police have arrested a 20 year-old man from Germany on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving without insurance. He is currently in police custody.
