A FACTORY worker who died in an industrial accident at a machinery plant in Stratford has been named by police.

Mark Seward, 49, from Bedfordshire, died from head injuries following an incident at AGD Equipment on Masons Road on Wednesday (May 27).

Ambulance crews and police were called to the scene and Mr Seward was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry but he died from his wounds shortly afterwards.

A post mortem was carried out on Monday (June 1) and the matter has been referred to the coroner but further details are yet to be released.

And a joint investigation between Warwickshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive has been launched in a bid to investigate the circumstances behind Mr Seward’s death.

Detective Inspector Liam Barry said “We are working closely with the company and the health and safety executive, to investigate this matter. Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this sad and difficult time.”

And a statement from AGD Equipment read: “Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all who knew him and AGD Equipment is co-operating fully with the police and their inquiries.”
